Sakhikamva Investments (Pty) Ltd (“Sakhikamva”) is a black economic empowerment investment group. The company was established in 2001 in order to facilitate broad based, grassroots participation in the empowerment process

The targeted beneficiaries of Sakhikamva are black South Africans who have been, and continue to be, excluded from access to real economic opportunities. Of particular importance are groups that have been most disadvantaged and marginalised. The empowerment shareholders of Sakhikamva were thus selected on the basis of their efficient and effective delivery of benefits and services to the targeted beneficiaries.

As an investment holding company, it will source investment opportunities where it can add value as an empowerment shareholder, both through contributing to the development of empowerment strategies for portfolio companies as well as through its efficient and effective distribution of profits to its targeted beneficiaries.

Sakhikamva will focus on taking meaningful stakes in companies in targeted industries. Sakhikamva will also look to participate in investment opportunities where it is not the lead investor or there is an opportunity to participate in a broad empowerment offering.

To avoid potential reputation risks, Sakhikamva will not invest in tobacco, gambling, defence or pornography related industries.
